Traded-in Amazon devices are restored and re-sold to new owners wherever possible, and any devices not qualified for resale are recycled through an Amazon-approved recycler.

Amazon has two trade-in programmes: one for Amazon Devices such as Ring Doorbells and Kindles, and another for non-Amazon devices such as Samsung products (phones, tablets, smartwatches), Apple products (iPhone, iPad, MacBook, Apple Watch) and other eligible electronics including gaming consoles.

How do I trade in my Amazon device in the UK?

Customers who trade in Amazon devices will receive payment in the form of an Amazon gift card, plus a promotional discount towards a new Amazon device.

To trade in your Amazon device, follow these steps:

  • Visit the Amazon device trade-in page and select your device
  • Tell us about your item(s) by answering a few questions about its condition and quality. Even non-working items are eligible!
  • Get your Trade-in offer – this will include a gift card value for your item(s), plus a promotional discount towards a new Amazon device
  • Send us your trade-in via UPS for free
  • Get paid and upgrade your device with your new promotional discount
  • You may receive your Trade-in benefits instantly or once we appraise and accept your item

How do I trade in my non-Amazon device in the UK?

Customers who trade in non-Amazon devices will receive payment directly to their bank account.

Eligible devices include smartphones, wearables, tablets, and gaming consoles.

To trade in your non-Amazon device, follow these steps:

  • Visit the non-Amazon device trade-in website
  • Select your device and answer questions about its condition
  • Receive an instant value estimate
  • Ship your device for free using the provided shipping label
  • Once your device is received and conditions verified, you will receive the final quote for the device. Upon acceptance, payment will reach your bank account within 3-5 working days.

If the device does not match the condition described in your answers, your device may be re-quoted. If you're unhappy with the revised quote, you can ask for the device to be returned, free of charge.
