Prime Video stars reveal what they’re buying on Amazon right now

As part of the Prime Video Presents: Trailblazers event in London on 1 October, which celebrated the women of Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, About Amazon got to chat to The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’s Sophia Nomvete, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Markella Kavenagh, and Megan Richards, as well as My Fault: London’s Asha Banks — and each star gave us a look at what’s currently on their Amazon Wish List.

In The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Reading-born actress Sophia Nomvete plays the role of princess Disa, who passionately protects her children Gerda and Gamli. As the proud mother of a young daughter in real life, Nomvete said her next Amazon purchase will be a dreamcatcher to try and keep any nightmares at bay.

“She’s had a couple of nightmares about monsters in the cupboards because she keeps watching Halloween cartoons,” Nomvete said. “If I go home and there is not an Amazon package of a dreamcatcher for my daughter, there will be no point in going home!”

Luckily, Amazon is home to a wide range of dreamcatchers to suit any bedroom colour scheme so parents can ward off any orcs (or other creepy creatures) in no time.

Nomvete also relies on Amazon’s fast delivery when she needs a birthday present for one of her daughter’s friends in a pinch. She joked: “Amazon saves the day when mummy has completely forgotten it’s whoever’s birthday the next day”.

Ruling as Tar-Míriel in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and investigating criminals in The Accountant 2 isn’t easy, but Cynthia Addai-Robinson can always count on Amazon to stay stocked up on her essentials.

“It’s all the odds and ends I buy,” Addai-Robinson explained. “Toiletries, books — I love that you can find almost anything you need there. It’s the store to end all stores!”

Guests at the Prime Video Presents: Trailblazers event were given an exclusive first look at UK Original movie My Fault: London, a British adaptation of the first book in Mercedes Ron’s bestselling Culpables trilogy starring St. Albans-born Asha Banks.

Australian actress Markella Kavenagh portrays the inquisitive and curious Harfoot character Nori Brandyfoot in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. She now lives in London, where the second season of the show was filmed, and told us she loves “the live music scene, the food, the people — even the weather.”

But when she’s not channelling Nori’s inquisitive nature by exploring the UK capital, Kavenagh spends a lot of time travelling while filming, and she’s got one thing on her Wish List to brighten up her journeys.
