Discover Sven, the story of England's first foreign manager Sven-Goran Eriksson. Sven is the stranger-than-fiction story about one of football’s most unpredictable characters.
The documentary, directed by Claudia Corbisiero (Bobby Robson: More than a Manager), delves into Sven’s rise, tabloid-emblazoned fall, and the heartbreaking reality of Sven’s terminal cancer diagnosis. It features various characters from his life including David Beckham, Wayne Rooney, Roberto Mancini, Kasper Schmeichel, Nancy Dell’Olio and Faria Alam.
Sven is produced by Whisper and Up&Away Film Entertainment, directed by Claudia Corbisiero (Bobby Robson: More than a Manager), produced by Chris Grubb (Ben Stokes: Phoenix from the Ashes) and Drew Masters (14 Peaks, Nothing is Impossible) and executive produced by James Quinn for Up&Away, and Sunil Patel and Mark Cole for Whisper. Sven Goran-Eriksson died on 26 August. In the documentary about his life, Eriksson delivered a message to his fans: 'Don't be sorry, smile.'
