We were delighted to support Womanthology’s diversity thought-leadership event, run in partnership with Warwick Business School on Monday 20th November 2017.
Womanthology is an online magazine launched earlier this year to champion positive female role models for women of all ages and career experience, and to provide a forum for sharing ideas, best practice and advice. Its founder, Fiona Tatton, organised the event to generate more innovative ideas on how to fast-track gender diversity in business.
“This isn’t a challenge any of us can tackle alone,” said Fiona. “Particularly in the case of accelerating gender balance, many heads are better than one so I’m excited to have Amazon on board to bring their knowledge and experience around initiatives to advance women. By working together, thinking creatively and innovating, we can create a new and more optimistic future for professional women.”
Held at The Shard in London, the event brought together leading individuals and organisations from UK businesses across a number of sectors, all of whom are committed to enabling progress for working women.
We were proud to have Fatima Benkhaled, a student of electronic engineering and management at King’s College London and recipient of the Amazon Women in Innovation Bursary, speak at the event. As a bursary recipient, Fatima receives funding throughout her four years at university, as well as a female mentor from our London development centre, who provides advice and access to a network that helps Fatima with her career progression.
