As part of our continued work to support diversity in the technology sector, we are pleased to share that we have joined Stonewall’s Diversity Champions programme. Stonewall is the largest LGBT rights charity in Europe, currently working with over 700 of the world’s leading organisations to create fully inclusive workplace environments by integrating diversity and inclusion into all parts of the business.
Alison Barlow, Amazon’s Head of EU Diversity, said: “Joining Stonewall’s Diversity Champions programme supports our goal of continually increasing diversity throughout our business and in the field of technology. Amazon has hundreds of millions of customers who benefit from diverse thinking that helps us pioneer and innovate. We are proud to be a company of builders who bring varying backgrounds, ideas, and points of view so we can invent on behalf of our customers and continually improve our customer experience. Our diverse perspectives come from many sources including gender, race, age, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, culture, education, as well as professional and life experience. We are confident our partnership with Stonewall will help us both attract and retain the best talent and develop innovations for our customers.”
Vicky Constance, Group Manager of Private Sector Programmes at Stonewall said, “We are delighted to be working with Amazon on our Diversity Champions Programme, to create and enhance workplace equality for lesbian, gay, bi and trans people in the UK and across the globe. This is an exciting time for the technology sector, and Amazon is stepping up to play its part. We’re very excited to see their progress over the coming years”.
