These investments raise economic activity in a given region and create a ripple effect through the local economy as the firms that supply goods and services to Amazon expand. In 2022, we invested more than £12bn and made total tax contributions of more than £3.6bn.

Amazon employees have great opportunities to progress their careers, whether through improving existing skills or promotion into a managerial role. Amazon’s fully-funded apprenticeship programme, from entry-level through to degree-level, provides an exciting path for future team leaders, engineers, and innovation drivers. And for those who see their future outside Amazon, the Career Choice programme offers funding for adult education, pre-paying 95% of tuition and associated fees - up to £8,000 over four years - for nationally recognised courses.

We have invested in the UK to build the digital and physical infrastructure to deliver products and services to millions of customers. Our staff work at sites across the length and breadth of the country, at over 100 sites across the UK, including more than 25 UK fulfilment centres and corporate offices in six cities, taking our total permanent workforce to more than 75,000.
